Filament exhibition breakdown.
When I first suggested this piece of work there were fears about the work surviving a month on the grass, would the weather and people damage it? Also the gardener was concerned that the grass wouldn't grow under the panels.
I was looking forward to removing the work today, a month after installation to see what had happened. It was exciting to see that the panels now looked like pillows, pushed up from underneath by the growing grass. Also most people had been incredibly respectful of the work walking around the piece. There were some small footprints of a child and of a bird which only added to the feel of the work.
When the panels were taken up the marks of the fabric were left behind in the longer grass.
